Creative Systems
CoLab #newsCOneeds Campaign
The annual #newsCOneeds campaign was created to celebrate the value of local journalism and encourage Coloradans to support the reporting that keeps their communities informed. Each year's campaign needed a cohesive visual identity that could unite multiple news organizations while remaining flexible enough to work across a wide range of digital and print platforms.
I led the creative design for the 2022 and 2023 statewide campaigns, developing a cohesive visual system across social media, digital advertising, email marketing, campaign collateral, and photography. In 2023, I expanded my role behind the camera, traveling to community events throughout Colorado to capture original photography for the campaign. Rather than relying on stock imagery, these authentic moments showcased the people and places local journalism serves, creating a stronger connection between the campaign and its audience. To ensure consistency across participating newsrooms, I also developed a comprehensive style guide that unified the campaign's visual language. The result was a recognizable statewide identity that celebrated Colorado communities while reinforcing the importance of local, fact-based journalism.

MT 2030 Climate Summit
The annual MT2030 Climate Summit brings together hundreds of leaders working at the forefront of climate action in mountain communities. The event needed a cohesive visual identity that could unify every attendee touchpoint—from digital promotion before the conference to the signage and materials guests experienced on-site.
For the 2025 summit, I developed the creative direction and designed a comprehensive suite of event collateral, including social media graphics, presentation templates, event signage, photo backdrops, name badges, table tents, and other branded materials. Every piece was designed to work together as one cohesive system, creating a polished and recognizable experience across both digital and physical spaces. By balancing bold typography, clean layouts, and nature-inspired visuals, the identity reflected MT2030's collaborative spirit while giving the Climate Summit a distinctive, professional presence that carried throughout the event.

“Marissa’s expertise elevated my brand and business altogether. As someone who did not know how much the visual impacted my business, she detailed the processes and ensured that my vision remained central to the process while creating an identity that matched my business and mind.”
